MINIM introduces 嬌 (Giu1), a special 1/50 limited edition created to mark Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse. Rendered in a deep, luscious red, 嬌 is not only a celebration of the season, but a deeply personal tribute to family, memory, and cultural heritage.

For the founder of MINIM, Lunar New Year has always been the most meaningful time of the year. Growing up in Hong Kong, it was a season defined by anticipation and warmth — red lanterns lining the streets, the sound of reunion dinners unfolding late into the night, and the rare joy of having the entire family gathered together under one roof. These moments, filled with laughter, ritual, and shared meals, form some of the fondest memories of childhood.

The name 嬌 (Giu1) carries layered significance. In Chinese, the character evokes grace, tenderness, and cherished beauty, something precious and deeply loved. It is also the founder’s mother’s given name, making this edition a personal dedication. The connection is further deepened by the Year of the Horse, the zodiac year in which his mother was born, a symbol of strength, vitality, and quiet perseverance. In this sense, 嬌 becomes both a celebration and a tribute: to maternal influence, to resilience, and to the unspoken support that shapes one’s journey.

The choice of red is deliberate and culturally resonant. In Chinese tradition, red represents joy, prosperity, protection, and renewal, a colour inseparable from Lunar New Year festivities.
